Wikipedia Definition:

A blog (an abridgment of the term web log) is a website, usually maintained by an individual, with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video. Entries are commonly displayed in reverse chronological order. “Blog” can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog.

To start a blog ask yourself the following questions:
    • What do I want to accomplish?
    • Who are the students that will participate?
    • Will you use outside articles, links. etc?
    • How often will they post?
    • How will students logon?
Examples of use:
    • Learning Journals - reflect on one's own learning
    • Create historical diaries - each day's post equals day in character's life
    • Create fictional diaries - choose a character from the book and write a diary from that person's point of view - respond to events in the book
    • Publish Book - a chapter a day
    • Collaborate with different classrooms
    • Role Plays
    • Students are assigned various roles and post blogs from their view point.
