WebQuests and Beyond! - October 8th

Proposed Projects for 2007-2008

Today's Goals:

  • What are RMS's goals for 2007 - 2008?
    • Creating Online Lessons which require critical thinking
    • Develop Teacher Cadres to support these efforts
  • What is a WebQuest and how do start?
  • How can you engage your students in something new and doable? The end product should be more than a research paper. Samples include:
    • Wiki
    • Podcast
    • Multi-Media Presentation (can be vodcasted)
    • Blog
    • etc.
  • What support do you need to make this happen?
  • Set up times and days to use Staff Development funds to develop these lessons.
  • ----

Designing the Lesson:

  1. Look at your TEKS and the ARRC
  2. Identify an upcoming unit
  3. Highlight Student expectations - How can the students demonstrate these to you?
  4. Create the Rubric for evaluating the student learning
  5. Contact your friendly librarians and ITS for ideas as you start
  6. Design the Project
